However, the war has severed families from their means to farm or fish, leaving them dependent on the whims of aid trucks and charity kitchens.<br><br>**A Recipe for Survival**<br><br>Some mothers have found ways to improvise meals using ingredients salvaged from airdropped parcels or market stalls. However, most families are desperate to break the monotony of stale pita, cold cans of beans, and whatever scraps they can find.
